Love Your Neighbor#3 - Don't Covet Or Steal, But Give

Loving your neighbor as yourself means:

I will not covet or steal what my neighbor has, but instead I will give what I have freely to others.

"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's." (Exo 20:17 ESV)

You shall not steal. (Exo 20:15 LITV)

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a trap, and many foolish and harmful lusts which sink men into perdition and ruin. (1Ti 6:9 MRC)

If you are a thief, quit stealing. Be honest and work hard, so you will have something to give to people in need. (Eph 4:28 CEV)

My friends, what good is it for one of you to say that you have faith if your actions do not prove it? Can that faith save you? Suppose there are brothers or sisters who need clothes and don't have enough to eat. What good is there in your saying to them, "God bless you! Keep warm and eat well!"---if you don't give them the necessities of life? So it is with faith: if it is alone and includes no actions, then it is dead. (Jam 2:14-17 GNB)

"You shall not charge interest on loans to your brother, interest on money, interest on food, interest on anything that is lent for interest.” (Deu 23:19 ESV)

The LORD defends the rights of orphans and widows. He cares for foreigners and gives them food and clothing. And you should also care for them, because you were foreigners in Egypt. (Deu 10:18-19 CEV)

The LORD blesses everyone who freely gives food to the poor. (Pro 22:9 CEV)

Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. (Rom 12:13 ESV)

But love your enemies and be good to them. Lend without expecting to be paid back. Then you will get a great reward, and you will be the true children of God in heaven. He is good even to people who are unthankful and cruel. (Luk 6:35 CEV)

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out devils: freely have you received, freely give. (Mat 10:8 DRB)

All the believers continued together in close fellowship and shared their belongings with one another. They would sell their property and possessions, and distribute the money among all, according to what each one needed. Day after day they met as a group in the Temple, and they had their meals together in their homes, eating with glad and humble hearts, praising God, and enjoying the good will of all the people. And every day the Lord added to their group those who were being saved. (Act 2:44-47 GNB)

As neighbors in the city of God, we need to recognize each others needs and meet them with what we have, without charging or demanding payment. Neighbors share!

Love Your Neighbor#2 - Be Kind, Gentle, and Patient with Concern

Loving your neighbor as yourself means:

I will be kind, compassionate, gentle, and patient with my neighbor, seeking his well being and having concern for him.

But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbor? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbor unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise. (Luk 10:29-37 KJVR)

Caring for the poor is lending to the LORD, and you will be well repaid. (Pro 19:17 CEV)

Whoever despises his neighbor is a sinner, but blessed is he who is generous to the poor. (Pro 14:21 ESV)

"How blessed are those who are merciful, for it is they who will receive mercy!" (Mat 5:7 ISV)

"Therefore, as elect ones of God, holy and beloved, put on a heart of compassions, kindness, humility, meekness, long-suffering," (Col 3:12 LITV)

"Long ago I gave these commands to my people: 'You must see that justice is done, and must show kindness and mercy to one another. " (Zec 7:9 GNB)

Get rid of your bitterness, hot tempers, anger, loud quarreling, cursing, and hatred. Be kind to each other, sympathetic, forgiving each other as God has forgiven you through Christ.
(Eph 4:31-32 GW)

"Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant"
(1Co 13:4 ESV)

Always be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. (Eph 4:2 CEV)

My friends, we beg you to warn anyone who isn't living right. Encourage anyone who feels left out, help all who are weak, and be patient with everyone. (1Th 5:14 CEV)

"As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher," (2Ti 2:24 GNB)

Finally, all of you should agree and have concern and love for each other. You should also be kind and humble. (1Pe 3:8 CEV)

If we are living in the same city together, then we must look out for each other and take care of each other!
